Who is a Performer member?
Performer Members are an essential component of the New York Composers Circle mission. Performers contribute their skill and expertise to the performance and composition of new pieces. Some benefits of Performer Membership include
- being called and offered performance opportunities, whether at NYCC Salons, Recorded Readings, or concerts. Different honorariums are paid for each piece performed at Readings and concerts.
- being able to meet and interact with contemporary composers, some of whom are renowned, world-class figures in contemporary music
- being able to network with an active group of varied new music composers, who are serious about growing the art and establishing a prominent presence in the new music community
- receiving publicity in program materials and press releases for concerts at recognized concert venues
- having the opportunity to have their performances reviewed by the press
- having biographical information and a photograph, together with a direct link to the performer’s own website, if desired, posted on this page
- having works specifically written for the Performer Member
- having the opportunity to perform world and New York premieres at professionally recorded concerts
- having all of the above and not having to pay any membership dues
